Do you get inspired to write while on vacation? How much has this been disrupted with Covid?

Ahhh....the beach! In 2020, some of us may have turned to local rivers, lakes, or smaller beaches to find ways to relax. This summer, I saw 2 bodies of water; the lake at my mom's home, as well as Lake Erie. Oh wait! Add a river in Brexville, OH too.
A change of scenery often leads to fresh outlooks, perspectives. A change of mood. With Covid, most of us went nowhere and had no way to gain fresh perspectives.
I could not write for about 3 months. I had all this time, and no productive thoughts. Untamed anxiety produces nothing but more anxiety. But the more we learned about Covid, the more we could accept the changes, adapt (personal views aside).
But I still couldn't write.
So I made jewelry instead. It can be therapeutic to complete repetitive tasks while listening to mysteries on YouTube.
Lest we not mention the social unrest? Who cares about your book when the George Floyd aftermath came out? I was too broken hearted at that point. I went back to the basement. I took a hammer to brass, and made medallions saying small things: Rebuild, Stop Being Quiet, to name a few.
But by August, I started setting goals again. Small goals. I needed to finish "Room for Sebastian". It needed cleaned up, sent out, and reorganized.
Here I am, in September!
It's going okay! Kids are (sort of) back in school, there is certainly a lack of fresh perspectives, no trips, the social upheaval.
Oh man...and the elections...(gulp).
