Well...Here it is blog numeral uno!
What is everyone reading in these trying, Covid days??? Are you even dealing with the libraries, or are you buying books on the cheap?
I am buying them on the cheap. Used & worn, for myself and my kids. One of my good friends found BetterWorldBooks.com. She said the prices are fantastic. I haven't checked it out yet, but it sounds great. Up until now, I have been going through Amazon.
Right now--on my night dresser, I have the following: "A Secret Gift" by Ted GUP, "Cutting for Stone" by Abraham Verghese, and "Letter to My Daughter" by Maya Angelou, which I am reading with my daughter.
Are you reading uplifting books? Books that carry you away from today's troubles? Or are you reading about situations harder than your own, so that you can put your own life in perspective? I guess I do a bit of both. An escape is always welcome, but so is someone else's struggles. It reminds us that we are not alone in our disappointments.
Today, I will continue "A Secret Gift" and I will also be getting my agent list together...I made corrections on "Room for Sebastian" and I'm sending it out again!
Everyone take care...and keep reading!
